This very large garden landscaping project was a huge challenge. The client wanted a flat lawn, a larger patio area outside their new conservatory and an impressive water feature that made use of the level changes.
The final scheme includes a 2.4m high retaining wall to create the new patio and level lawn. This was created using reinforced concrete block walls which were finished with a faux stone cladding. This wall also incorporates an impressive rock water feature that is designed to look as though it existed an the wall was constructed around it. The lawn is accessed from the upper levels via two sets of steps at either end of the terrace. There are terraced borders on either side of the lawn, created using railway sleepers. There are also two circular areas in the bottom corners of the garden – one is a seating area, the other houses a focal point that the client particularly wished to keep.
The final garden landscape allows the client to make full use of the space and has a real wow factor. The garden was designed by Linsey Evans (link to my Web site) who has commissioned Greg as landscape contractor on many of her gardens. Linsey and Greg consider themselves to be experts in dealing with steeply sloping garden landscapes.
