Decking

A well constructed deck will blend with any style of garden. Wood is warm underfoot and mellows beautifully with age. If you are trying to create flat areas in a steeply sloping garden a wooden deck is often a more cost effective option than a hard paved terrace. A deck is also a softer option than hard paving and works wonderfully as a terrace adjoining a garden pond.

There are many different types of wood to choose from and even a budget option such as new pine will weather and look great with age. An Oak deck is more expensive, but will mellow to a gorgeous silver colour and blend well with the materials of an older property.
